Kerala Assembly passes resolution on revised Ecologically Sensitive Area proposal

The Hindu reports that the Kerala Assembly unanimously passed a resolution asking the Union government to accept the State's revised ESA proposal covering 8,590.69 square kilometres. Lawmakers urged the Centre to issue the final notification for the Western Ghats only after considering this submission to protect local interests.
